BlackBerry’s YouTube channel has released a new which features Emily Butcher. She is the owner of Flowers by Emily in Northbridge, Sydney. Her BlackBerry is an essential part of running her business and for keeping in touch with clients, and her friends and family.

What are BBM connected apps? Quite simply, they are BlackBerry applications that leverage the power of BBM 6 to incorporate your favorite aspects of BBM – and a few new ones!
Please note that to take full advantage of these BBM connected apps, you must first download BBM 6. The BBM 6 update and BBM connected apps may take up to 24 hours to appear in the BlackBerry App World™ storefront for some users.

The movie Bruce Almighty was on TV recently; a 2003 comedy where a frustrated field reporter was lent the powers of the big G for a week. During the film, Bruce used his newfound powers to become “Mr. Exclusive” – being the first, and the only, reporter on the scene at major news that he himself created. Putting aside the divine powers, it can be argued that almost anyone can become a Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms Exclusive – with the right tools of course.
The way we access the news is continually changing as mobile technology advances. I don’t know how many times I would catch the news on an application such as Viigo long before I would be able to sit down in front of the six o’clock news. Do you even venture to the newspaper stand to pay for a paper anymore? Why would you when you can read it online for free? The news has come and gone long before the paper hits the stands – the term “hot off the presses” no longer applies. Terms like “trends” and “feeds” have easily replaced it as they better reflect that instantaneous access we have. If you have a smartphone (or dumbphone for that matter) in hand, and you’re on the scene, you could potentially become a mobile reporter.
Earlier this month Bongs posted screenshots of his vision for OS 8 in our fellows forums, now he has a video on YouTube. We were really impressed with his works and if you had not seen the screenshots yet check out the video below and you will see why.
On the concept video he shows off the a fluid looking UI, with gestures, with a notification drop down box similar to the one currently on OS 6 but much improved.
Another big reason why this has us really impressed is that he is only 16yr old. Hopefully RIM is reading this and if they need some ideas get a hold of this kid. He has some talent.

The Nobex team let me know they’ve added a great feature to their Radio Companion application for BlackBerry smartphones. Users can now choose to watch YouTube videos of their favorite songs by selecting the “YouTube” feature from the menu while listening. They’ve also added playlists for top stations around the world for everyone to enjoy, not just US listeners. Other features of NobexRC include:
