Cnectd has just released their Blackberry Beta to the public. Cnectd is a Cross-Platform messenger that mimics a lot of the functions of Blackberry Messenger. Now you can finally get a full BBM experience with other Apple and Anroid friends who also have Cnectd! Over a year ago there was a lot of buzz going around about a new barcode scanning technology that Microsoft had been working on. They released a beta version of what is called Tag, which needless to say was a very buggy application. However, Microsoft is proud to announce that Tag has come out of beta and that they’ve included a few new upgrades:
A device ID feature will allow marketers to deliver a more personalized consumer experience across multiple Tags. For example, consumers can now receive customized content, such as a coupon or other offer from a retail outlet, based on Tags they’ve previously scanned
A new .tag file format will make it easier to print and manage a large number of different Tags as part of a broad campaign deployment. Developers of professional printing programs can now generate the Tag graphic on the fly as part of their solution
Tag has always been available worldwide and has been distributed and deployed globally. We have added localization in five new languages which include: French, Spanish, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Italian
And finally, we will be introducing a beta Heat Map feature in the next few days, available in the Tag Campaign Manager, that will help companies better measure Tag usage by location and make more informed decisions about their Tag campaigns and overall marketing spend

Ditto for BlackBerry is a very useful application, allowing you to have group chats via SMS. Setup is quick and easy. Simply add contacts to the chat, tag them, and start texting. This saves the confusion and hassle of having multiple one person SMS chats. Overall Ditto is a great solution to BBM Groups, especially if your friends SMS a lot from their non-BlackBerry devices. Due to popular request, Ditto has been updated and now includes a 7 day free trial. You can pick it up for $2.99 via BlackBerry App World. It is available for most BlackBerry devices.
We’ve seen it in pics, we’ve seen it in video and now it’s time for another round of up close and personal pics with the BlackBerry Bold 9800. Love it or hate it, this is a device that many folks are now starting to love more and more as newer pics and videos show up on the scene. While I’m still not overly fond of the device myself, that on screen keyboard (if it works as I’m thinking it does) should be quite functional. If you’re already a user of Bitstream’s Bolt Browser you should find this morning that it’s advising you to go ahead and update to the latest release of 2.1. If you’re new to Bolt, now may be the time to give it a test drive. Some new additions have been made to the overall application including updated Webkit installs server side for Bitstream to produce better rendering of webpages. Facebook enhancements have also been made as well, so now users can make use of Facebook chat right from within the browser. HTML5 support is onboard as well for such things as Youtube videos, along with a better tabbed browsing experience that has been there since 2.0. Telstra announced today that the new BlackBerry Pearl 3G will be officially available starting tomorrow. The device will be available exclusively on Telstra in Australia for three months after release. The Pearl 3G will be availalbe in the 20-key version (9100) in both Royal Purple and Piano Black. Various pricing options are available, and the device can be purchased outright for $679. Starting tomorrow, customers can head to telstra.com/blackberrypearl to order the device online.
