Free miRoamer Global Radio Streaming Internet Radio App For BlackBerry

If you’re looking for an alternative to the bunch of streaming radio apps already mentioned here on BBRocks!, here’s one I haven’t mentioned yet. miRoamer Global Radio gives you access to the “world’s largest and most diverse selection of Internet radio content” for free. They do have a premium version but I’m not sure what the differences are. Features include:

miRoamer Free Online and FM/AM Radio For BB

While browsing through App World I came across miRoamer a fully loaded Internet Radio application that allows you to listen to local radio stations AF/AM or stream internet radio. The application is loaded with genres from all over the world.  At this time the application only has BIS, WAP or Wi-FI options for network.  The UI is nice and works well on the 9800 touch screen.
Best of all the application is Free, I know most of you are familiar with Pandora, and Slacker but this will give you a new option. The application uses location to determine local radio stations. Works best over Wi-Fi.

LG launches a look-a-like Blackberry C300 Phone

Remember the saying If you can’t beat them, join them? Well Korean handset manufacturer LG have just changed it to if you can’t beat them, look like them. The new LG C300 has a QWERTY keyboard that gives you a very similar feeling to that of Research in Motion’s Blackberry.

Although it doesn’t pack much in terms of features as compared to a Blackberry device – lack of 3G, WLAN, GPS – it makes up for this with an adequate 2.4-inch TFT display (320 x 240 pixels resolution) and comes with a built in social networking widgets from Twitter, Facebook and MSN clients, push email and a 2-megapixel camera which will do for some everyday pictures. What the C900 has that isn’t present on a Blackberry is a built in FM radio (touché). One thing the C900 will have going for it is that it is the ideal student phone as its cost isn’t going to be more than 100 Euros.
