Facebook for BlackBerry receives an update due to a fix timeline refresh and app freezes

We all know that Facebook for BlackBerry is a hit or miss, depending on the user, but today the folks have released an update to address some issues that users were seeing. Many of us, myself included, got stuck with a timeline that wouldn’t refresh or once the application was launched, it would just freeze up — sometimes to the extent that a battery pull was needed. The update to version 2.0.0.45 should address both of these issues and probably some others that they didn’t list, but either way be sure to hop onto App World and grab the update now. Facebook stole every contact and phone number in your phone – here’s how to undo the damage

This may come as a shock considering how seriously Facebook takes your privacy, but if you’re a Facebook user with one of Facebook’s mobile applications installed on your iPhone or one of several other smartphones, you’ve been robbed. Each and every contact stored on your phone is probably now also stored on Facebook’s servers, as was re-re-rediscovered by Facebook users this past week. Whether or not people in your contact list even have Facebook accounts, their names and phone numbers are likely now in Facebook’s possession. There is probably a clause buried deep within Facebook’s terms and conditions that makes this invasion of your privacy OK on paper, but odds are still pretty good that it’s not OK with you. Complete instructions outlining how to remove all of your contacts’ phone numbers from your Facebook account can be found below. Whether or not the data will be completely wiped from Facebook’s servers is unclear, but we’ll leave that for the lawyers to figure out.

Top Free BlackBerry Apps

Oftentimes, when we discuss BlackBerry applications for our daily post, we’re featuring premium applications. There are some free applications mixed in there, but typically the free applications don’t get as much airtime. We’re going to overcompensate for this by listing a ton of free apps. How many? To be honest, I never counted. I just compiled a list and put them in some discernible order. If you’re ever on the hunt for BlackBerry applications, or know someone looking to fill her Berry with freebies, make sure to check out what follows.
